Sovereign development consortium

We are a member of the Sovereign Development Consortium (SDC), joining 12 other housing associations and allowing us to pool our knowledge and resources.

SDC was formed in 2003 following reforms by the Housing Corporation to create fewer partners whilst improving on quality. Today, the consortium has grown from the founding five landlords into a motivated team of housing associations and construction partners, with a total of nearly 41,000 homes under their management.

Saxon Weald joined the consortium in 2007. As one of its members, we are well positioned to apply for funding and to make cost savings through collectively sourcing supplies and services from third parties. In addition, we are able to tap into the resources and knowledge of other partnership members, in turn helping us to improve and grow our business.
