Renting a property

Getting a property – How does it work?

If you are in need of housing or searching for an affordable general needs property, this is what you need to know…

Saxon Weald does not allocate properties to individuals or families directly. All the homes that we offer people are allocated by the appropriate local council.

Anyone under the age of 60 looking for an affordable, housing association property should contact their local council and register for housing. The councils that allocate homes in the areas we operate are:

Click on one of the areas below to be directed to their council’s website:

Horsham District Council>>

Southampton City Council>>

Eastleigh Borough Council>>

Winchester City Council>>

Each of these councils hold waiting lists of potential tenants, who are then allocated to Saxon Weald as and when properties become available.

When a housing association property becomes vacant, that housing association will either keep it for existing tenants who wish to move, or pass it to the local council to allocate to someone on their register. Therefore please contact your local council to register for housing, before contacting Saxon Weald.
